Keeping confidential information safe

Any information we collect about the patient is confidential and used only for the purpose of this study. Information about the patient is only available to research staff and the medical staff caring for them. The results of this study will eventually be published in a medical journal, however no individual patient will be identified.

Who funds the trials?

CLOTS Trials 1 & 2 are funded by

The Medical Research Council (UK)
 

The Scottish Governments Chief Scientists office
 

Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.

The stockings are supplied free of charge by the manufacturers for the purposes of the study.

CLOTS 3  is funded by the Chief Scientists Office. The pumps and IPC sleeves are also supplied free of charge by the manufacturer for the purposes of the study.
