Training

Apart from teaching both under postgraduate, medical and nursing students, we run an annual "Advanced Clinical Neurology Course" for trainee neurologists and an annual course on multicentre clinical trial management.

Clinical Neurology Course

THE 34th CLINICAL NEUROLOGY COURSE

We look forward to seeing you at the 34th Edinburgh Clinical Neurology course, on Monday & Tuesday, 10th and 11th September 2012. The course has been compacted to run over 2 rather than 3 days, although the total teaching time has barely altered. We have moved the venue to Edinburgh First, which is part of the University campus in the city, and are delighted to be using their purpose built conference facilities again. The accommodation is also on site, and for those of us of a certain vintage, student accommodation is an awful lot swisher than we remember! The most important result of these changes has been a significant reduction in the fees, which seems appropriate in these more austere times.

What we have not changed however are the principles of the course, distilled over the last 3 decades. Our approach is entirely practical, and will appeal to anyone with a passing interest in neurology, whether trainees, young(ish) consultants or seasoned veterans. This "no nonsense" approach, instilled by its founder Charles Warlow, is the central attraction of the course, together with its own unique brand of informality and Scottish conviviality. Come see the Athens of the North, and hone your neurological craft. Places are limited to 60, so haver not.

The course fee and catering on both days is £250, accommodation (2 nights B & B) &90, course dinner &45.

Edinburgh Clinical Trial Management Course

This two day course has been running since 1994 and focuses primarily on efficient management of randomised controlled trials. The course is a mixture of lectures and small group workshops. Its practical approach takes participants step by step through all the stages of a well-run trial. The course is recognised by the medical research council and certified for 13 CPD credits.
