1 YEAR ADVANCED STROKE MEDICINE POST IN EDINBURGH

If you are an SpR in Neurology, MOE, Acute Medicine, or Clinical Pharmacology we would like to invite you to gain an additional qualification in Advanced Stroke Training in Edinburgh. In short, this would be beneficial to you because:

· You would have unique knowledge amongst other trainees in your parent specialty of modern hyper-acute Stroke management, including hands-on experience leading thrombolysis

· Receive experience and training of all aspects of modern management of Stroke patients, tailored to your training needs. About 1 in 7 acute medical beds in the UK have a patient with a stroke1

· Gain dual accreditation with your parent specialty (eg MOE, Neurology or Acute Medicine) with future additional job potential and increased job choice

· Experience when and how to involve other neuroscience specialties, including close working with neuroradiologists to gain skills in interpreting brain scans, CT and MRI and modern selection for neurosurgery

· The post can form an additional 1 year attachment within your current rotation and is based entirely within Edinburgh teaching hospitals with no commuting to satellite District Hospitals

· Interaction with all other acute specialties in all medical areas including high dependency units
